 Lauren Mayhew has been making a name for herself in the entertainment industry as an actress, host, and singer for years now. Audiences of all ages will now be able to hear her hot new rock sound, in addition to catching her in upcoming television and film roles such as her lead in Universal Studios "American Pie: Band Camp" which was released in December and is now a top selling DVD.
Lauren's first national break came with a starring role on the soap opera Guiding Light and her first film debut in "Raise Your Voice," a New Line Cinema film, in which she played Hilary Duffs rival, however it was her role as front woman for Sonys pop quartet PYT that really thrust her into the spotlight. In 1998 Lauren got her first record deal with Sony as a member of the music group PYT. PYT's hectic travel schedule did not leave much time for acting so she said good-bye to the cast of Guiding Light and headed out on tour with the group.
They toured with such hot acts as *NSYNC, Britney Spears, 98 Degrees and Destiny's Child (just to name a few). They performed in over 400 shows all over
the country to screaming fans that really fell in love with their R&B/Pop sound. They were featured on soundtracks such as Miss Congeniality; Bring It On and Center Stage. Lauren also appeared in music videos with Mandy Moore and Faith Hill as well as two of her own music videos with PYT.
All of this was very rewarding but in the back of her mind, she knew that one day she would want to be on her own, performing some of her own compositions. Ultimately, Lauren is an entertainer. She commands the stage with a presence that is undeniable. She sings, dances, writes her own music, and plays the piano.
