Rie’s got a ‘thing’ that’s a little hard to describe. Her music has a haunting poetry that makes you think, and not necessarily about the story she’s singing. While listening to this Sia-like voice you’ll catch yourself being reminded of moments in life, memories bubbling to the surface for no apparent reason other than Rie’s underlying soundtrack. Quirky
production and an extremely vulnerable vocal delivery will break down any walls you may be bringing to the table allowing you to swim in whatever floods rush behind your closed eyelids.
Since 2004, the Emmy nominated songwriter has been writing music for ABC, where a majority of her songs have seen airplay. Whether performed by Rie herself or other vocalists, her lyrics and melodies have captivated a wide range of fans, from Indie followers to loyal Daytime viewers. As an artist, Miss Sinclair is finding her spotlight as the starlet who ‘walked in the back door’. Not only was she the voice of SOAPnet’s first original series, “General Hospital: Night Shift”, but numerous placements on various shows such as FX’s “Dirt”, CBS’s “Ghost Whisperer, NBC’s “Bionic Woman”, and ABC’s “Samantha Who”, have given Rie a graceful span of eclectic range for this chameleon-like composer.
Now also sprouting her own career as a performer and musician on her newly found label, I Miss You Records, she is finishing her debut album, “A Moment You Never Dreamed” with a release date this fall, 2008. Though releasing a full-length album of end of 2007 for ABC fans after her first EP, “Glow” (July 2006), “A Moment” will be more true to the artist’s dark, moody, atmospheric tones and similar to her itunes-only “Bee-Sides” 3-song recent release. Sinclair is also working on a side project with band mate Tommy Walter (Abandoned Pools) called Oliver The Penguin.
“She balances the truth of love, both good and bad. With a perfect combination of the maturity of one who has had their heart broken, and the wide-eyed innocence that we all had before we found out that love can be painful, Rie Sinclair will lead you into your own dreams of love as well as remind you of the heartbreak that you outgrew. She is absolutely seamless.” – Helium
